These are common ingredients found in local cuisine. You can find these ingredients readily available in your local supermarket.

Wheat Flower

Wheat starch is wheat flour with all the gluten removed. It is a fined textured, off-white powder, which is commonly used to make dough in various dim sum dishes. When wheat flour dough is steamed, it becomes soft, shiny, and opaque white. Incorporated into batters, it makes light, airy cakes.

Fill wheat starch dough with shrimp, minced meat, or fresh vegetable mixtures and pinch to seal. Deep-fry, boil, or steam the dumplings for snacks or appetizers.

Wheat flour is available in cellophane-wrapped packages. Store the contents of an opened package in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place. It will keep for several months.
