Kecap manis, or sweet soy sauce, is a rich, dark brown, syrupy-thick sauce from Indonesian . Kecap manis is sweetened with palm sugar and seasoned with various ingredients, such as garlic and star anise. Use it as a flavoring in various Indonesian dishes,as a condiment, or as a marinade. Kecap manis can be found in Asian markets and stored indefinitely in a cool, dry place.
