TERIYAKI SAUCE
Teriyaki sauce is one of the most delicious culinary exports to come from Japan. It has a savory, sweet flavor that goes well with any barbecued or grilled meat, poultry, fish, or shellfish. Traditionally made from equal portions of soy sauce or mirin, today's teriyaki sauce may include additional ingredients such as pineapple juice, sake, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic.
When you don't have time to make your own teriyaki sauce, use a bottle of prepared teriyaki sauce. Convenient and flavorful, it is perfect for basting, glazing, marinating, and stir-frying. Just stir-fry some meat and vegetables, add a few tablespoons of the sauce, and you've got an instant meal.
Refrigerate prepared teriyaki sauce after opening. It will keep for several months.
