BAKED BANANAS WITH A CREAMY SAUCE

Ingredients:

3 medium-firm, ripe bananas
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1-tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup dried apricots, chopped
1/4 cup golden raisins
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons finely shredded orange peel
1/8-teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon melted butter

2 teaspoons toasted black sesame seeds
2 teaspoons toasted white sesame seeds
2 strawberries, sliced

Cooking:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Peel bananas. Cut 1 banana in chunks and place in blender with evaporated milk and sugar; blend until smooth. Halve the remaining 2 bananas lengthwise; arrange, cut side up, in a shallow baking dish. Sprinkle apricots, raisins, brown sugar, orange peel, and cinnamon over the top; drizzle with butter. Bake until bananas are heated through, 12 to 15 minutes.
  3. Pour pureed banana mixture in a rimmed serving plate. Arrange baked bananas and dried fruits on top. Sprinkle with black and white sesame seeds. Garnish with sliced strawberries. Serve hot.
